Fitness and Wellness
The Chartwell Fitness and Wellness program prioritizes inclusivity, mental health awareness, and encourages students to find joy in movement and the outdoors. Defying traditional physical education class norms, the program thrives on a curriculum driven by student choice. The comprehensive, collaborative model touches on all aspects of health and wellness. All Chartwell students are encouraged to learn and utilize self-advocacy skills, try new activities and sports, and expand their definition of wellness to be all-encompassing with physical, mental, and emotional health.
At the high school level, students are introduced to a variety of competitive sports and games to gauge their interests. Classes are a safe space for students to try new things and make mistakes in an environment that is supportive of each individual’s journey with movement. Mental health and wellness is a core component of the program; conversations and resources around nutrition, sleep, depression, and anxiety are frequently discussed to foster a safe, supportive environment across campus.
Students have the option to participate in a wide variety of interscholastic sports teams as well as athletic clubs. Learn more about Chartwell’s athletics program and offerings here.
