Is Chartwell a Good Fit for Your Student?

Chartwell is designed for students ages 6–19 (Grades 1–12) with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia and related challenges.

You may be considering Chartwell if your student is bright and capable but is struggling to thrive in a traditional school environment. Many of our students have experienced frustration with reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, organization, or other areas of learning despite their strengths and efforts. Some students may also be struggling to fit in socially or experiencing anxiety or stress because their school environment is not meeting their learning needs.

At Chartwell, students learn in a supportive, welcoming, and nurturing environment that understands how they learn best. Our strengths-based approach helps students build academic skills while developing confidence, self-awareness, and strategies for becoming more independent learners.

You may be considering Chartwell if your student:

• Has significant strengths and the cognitive and academic capacity to engage meaningfully with Chartwell’s academic program
• Is motivated to learn and participate in their education
• Is developing an understanding of their learning differences and is ready to participate in the learning process
• Is able to participate successfully in a structured, supportive classroom community
• Would benefit from a specialized learning environment that recognizes their individual strengths and learning profile

Chartwell supports students who may experience:

• A language-based learning difference, including dyslexia, and related academic challenges
• Difficulty acquiring literacy skills such as reading and spelling
• Challenges with written expression, mathematics, processing information, working memory, or executive functioning skills such as organization, study skills, and time management
• Attention or executive functioning challenges, including ADHD
• Frustration, anxiety, or difficulty fitting in socially when a traditional school environment does not align with their learning needs
• Difficulty accessing the curriculum despite their strengths and efforts
