Teacher Training Institute (TTI)
The Chartwell School Teacher Training Institute offers a professional development program for educators, administrators and parents who would like to learn more about emerging research and best practices in reading and learning dynamics. Chartwell's TTI classes are highly recommended for teachers, tutors and school principals. Interested parents are also welcome. Practicum
This three-week practicum is an introductory course for classroom teachers, tutors, and educational therapists interested in prescriptive teaching. It will provide research-based reading instruction techniques for students who need structure to function successfully in all areas of language arts, including reading, writing, spelling, and speaking. Participants will learn about the components of the structured language training lesson plan, the methodology to teach a lesson, the philosophy behind the multi-sensory lesson, and the scope and sequence of linguistic information needed to teach at various levels.

- Structured language lessons
- Analysis of linguistic patterns found in English language
- Decoding strategies
- Encoding strategies using simultaneous oral spelling
