Flex Your Power – Best Overall Award, 2007 (Recognizing outstanding achievements in energy conservation, education and leadership, demand response, and innovative products and services.)
Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award, 2007
United States Green Building Council – LEED Platinum, 2007 (Awarded to the entire Chartwell campus. This is the highest level of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.)
United States Environmental Protection Agency Western Regional Award for Energy Efficiency, 2007 – (In addition to the award, Chartwell is the model for the EPA’s new Life Cycle Building Challenge, which has attracted more than 300 entries from every state in the union.)
United States Green Building Council of Northern California – Green Super Hero Award, 2008 (Awarded to Douglas Atkins for his outstanding work to increase public understanding of the benefits of green schools for students and their communities.)
