After-School Program

Chartwell High School offers an after-school program Monday to Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. This program is included in tuition, and it’s open to all Chartwell High School students. The program is designed as an easy, comfortable way for students to get support with homework, projects or organization.

Each day, a specific teacher runs the after-school program. The schedule is set for the year, so all students know when each teacher is available after school. For example, a student who benefits from extra help with his math homework might choose to stay for the after-school program every Wednesday, when his math teacher runs the program. Or, a student working on an essay might choose to stay for the after-school program on a few Mondays because her literature teacher is available for extra support at that time.

Some students choose to stay for the after-school program every day simply because completing homework at school is easier for them than completing it at home. Some students stay for the after-school program because parents cannot pick them up when school ends at 4:00 PM due to work schedules.

Regardless of the reason for staying after, all students are welcome. Students must check in to the after-school program by 4:10 PM. Students are free to leave the program at any time, but must sign out when they depart.

Speech and Language Therapy

Some of our students benefit greatly from working with a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP). Chartwell offers fee-based SLP services on campus with excellent, experienced professionals. An additional benefit is that our teachers can easily work with the on-campus SLP, who can inform our educational approach for some students.

Occupational Therapy

Some of our students benefit greatly from working with an Occupational Therapist (OT). Chartwell offers fee-based OT services on campus with excellent, experienced professionals. Many families find that including OT appointments in the school day is much easier that setting up additional appointments after school or on weekends. An additional benefit is that our teachers can easily work with the on-campus OT, who can inform our educational approach for some students.
