Every successful community involves a high degree of adherence to commonly shared beliefs and practices. At Chartwell we believe personal integrity and community responsibility form the bedrock of our community. Our Handbook explains how these are manifest into day to day activities on campus.
The schedule at Chartwell High School is a key aspect of our program. Our daily schedule reflects teenage bio-rhythms, with classes beginning at 9:00 AM. Students attend the full instructional day, which runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We integrate short breaks in the school day to ensure that students have time to meet their social, emotional and physical needs outside of class time.
Rather than dividing the academic year into semesters, we divide the year into project periods. The yearly schedule is built around four project periods, with a break between each project.
