Field experiences are integral to our curriculum. Students participate in several overnight and single-day field experiences during the school year. These hands-on learning opportunities allow our students to access knowledge in an authentic, meaningful, memorable manner. Field experiences are planned to add extra layers of meaning to project period topics.
- A private tour of the Brain Research Center at Stanford University Hospital, including seeing a live brain scan, during a project period focused on learning styles and the brain.
- An overnight stay aboard a ship in the San Francisco Bay during which students tested water, navigated by chart, and dissected fish for a project period focused on marine ecology.
- A multi-night stay in Los Angeles for a project period focused on creativity that included: three museum visits, two college tours, and a creativity workshop at Disneyland.
