Research & Educational Partners
Chartwell School is honored to be the beneficiary of two research partnerships: one with UC Merced and the other with The Dyslexia Center at UCSF. These partnerships provide our faculty with the opportunity to work with researchers at the cutting edge of what works best for children with dyslexia. In addition, these partnerships permit Chartwell to have world-renowned researchers speaking and working on our campus. By making Chartwell students accessible to the top researchers in the field, we have created a synergy that benefits all involved.
Chartwell is located within one mile of CSUMB. This proximity provides multiple opportunities for collaboration. The school is a designated community service site for CSUMB students to complete their community service graduation requirements. In addition, Chartwell is an approved location for students within the College of Education to complete their practicum requirements for CSUMB's teacher credential program. The Professional Development Institute, offered each summer, has CUE credits that are issued by CSUMB. Finally, we have a long history of having Dr. Daniel M. Fernandez, Professor, Division of Science and Environmental Policy, visit campus with his students to share physics demonstrations and learn about our LEED Platinum buildings.
